DESCRIPTION:What if (trans)men* also give birth? What if the patient asking you for an abortion has a beard? What does our reaction to this say about us, as doctors?\nThis lecture will explore how gender variance challenges the way we think of and organize reproductive health care. Having framed reproductive health as “a women’s issue” for decades came at the cost of systematically excluding trans and queer experiences from the ob/gyn departments. During this lecture we will look into our gender-related assumptions and explore ways of creating a more inclusive and accessible health care system for gender nonconforming patients.
