Obligatory attendance

Legal situation

The new version of the Higher Education Act of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia abolished the compulsory attendance across the board. In justified exceptional cases, however, attendance obligations may still exist.

In the courses of study in medicine and dentistry, attendance is still compulsory, as this is regulated in the licensing regulations.
