{"id":52469,"date":"2024-08-16T12:08:53","date_gmt":"2024-08-16T10:08:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asta.rwth-aachen.de\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=52469"},"modified":"2024-10-17T00:25:14","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T22:25:14","slug":"department-leader-for-cultural-affairs-in-the-asta","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.asta.rwth-aachen.de\/en\/?post_type=job_listing&p=52469","title":{"rendered":"Department leader for Cultural Affairs in the AStA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you would like to work voluntarily for the student body, enjoy organizing cultural events<br \/>\nand exchanging ideas with other players in the cultural scene or even have your own ideas<br \/>\nfor projects that promote the cultural education of students, for example, or that may have<br \/>\nbeen missing in Aachen until now, the Department for Cultural Affairs is the right place for<br \/>\nyou!<\/p>\n<p>As department leader, you will be responsible for your own departement, which means<br \/>\nthat you will also be responsible for coordinating and leading a team of volunteer project<br \/>\nmanagers who will support you or have their own projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What tasks await you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are practicaly your own boss in your departement and can continue exciting<br \/>\nevents and projects or create new ones. Current events are: Campus Festival,<br \/>\nSemesteranfangsparty (SAP), BierTemp, Gl\u00fchTemp, student ball, lecture hall slam,<br \/>\npower point karaoke<\/li>\n<li>There are also other projects that the department is working on. These includs, for example,<br \/>\nthe introduction of a cultural semester ticket in cooperation with the city. Or graffiti walls on<br \/>\ncampus and in underpasses, the topic of accessibility at events, drawing courses and<br \/>\npotential excursions for cultural education.<\/li>\n<li>You have a team of around 10 project managers who supervise individual projects or<br \/>\nsupport yours<\/li>\n<li>You regularly talk to the rector, the management level of the Studierendenwerk, the city&#8217;s<br \/>\nstakeholders and the independent cultural scene and can also network with other AStAs<br \/>\nacross NRW<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What experience should you have?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interest in culture and motivation to make a difference<\/li>\n<li>A structured and reliable way of working. Events such as SAP have a volume of almost<br \/>\n40,000 euros and the cultural semester ticket significantly more<\/li>\n<li>Initial experience in event planning and possibly event management as well as leading<br \/>\ngroups is desirable<\/li>\n<li>Awareness should be no new concept for you<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to familiarize yourself with legal regulations, e.g. on the operation of bars, therefore the ability to understand German law textes is requiered<\/li>\n<li>A lot of the communication will be in German, you shoud be fluent in German<\/li>\n<li>At least 30 hours of time per week (leave of absence possible)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What do we offer?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A commited AStA team consisting of seven department leaders and a total of up to<br \/>\n100 project managers<\/li>\n<li>Experience in project management and leading a team<\/li>\n<li>Training opportunities for event management<\/li>\n<li>A BAf\u00f6G maximum rate as an expense allowance for your voluntary work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The department leader for Cultural Affairs is elected by the student parliament and has to<br \/>\nreport to it. The term of office lasts approximately until mid-July 2025.
