RWTH Clash – Rocket League
Boot up your computers and fire up your virtual engines, because we’re hosting our first own Esport Tournament. From November 27th to November 29th, you can compete against other students in the game Rocket League. It doesn’t matter how much experience you and your teammates have in Rocket League.
Procedure and rules
In the RWTH Clash, teams of 3 with up to one substitute player compete against each other. First there is a group phase and then the playoffs. In the group phase, only the best teams from each group will advance. These will be reshuffled and compete against each other until the eighth, quarter, semifinals and the grand final at the end. The tournament kicks off at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27.

You can register as a team under the following link. If you don’t have a complete team yet or if there are too few of you, just write us a short mail and we will refer you to other interested people who don’t have a team, so that everyone can play.
Deadline for registration is 25.11.2020 at 18:00.

Of course there will be something for you. For the winning team and the best three teams we have organized vouchers for Black LaserTag Aachen and the Holocafé Aachen.

Who can participate?
The tournament is primarily for students, no matter from which university. Make sure that you have at least a few students in your team.
When will the tournament take place?
The tournament will be held from 27 to 29 November. On the first day there will be the group stage, then depending on the number of participating teams, further elimination rounds will be held on Friday and Saturday, until the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, which will be held on Sunday.
On Friday, November 27, the tournament will start at 6 pm.
On Saturday and Sunday we will start at 2 pm each day.
What is Rocket League?
The best thing to do is to check out the official website, there you will also find the possibility to download the game, make sure you have the latest version and the game is installed and running on your console.
Do I need experience in the game?
You can also participate as complete newcomers. Maybe take a look at how the control works beforehand.
With which console can I participate in the tournament?
As long as the console supports the game it is possible to participate. We do not exclude anyone because of the type of console.
How often do you play?
In the group stage, a competition between 2 teams consists of 3 games of 5 minutes each. The last final rounds are carried out with up to 5 games per competition.
Our department for culture is responsible for the organization of the RWTH Clash.
