Department leader for Sustainability and Student Engagement in the AStA

If you would like to work voluntarily for the student body, if you enjoy the implementation and support of sustainable projects at the university or the cooperation and support of student initiatives and student councils, the Department for Sustainability and Student Engagement is the right place for you! As department leader, you will be responsible for your own departement, which means that you will also be responsible for coordinating and leading a team of volunteer project managers.

What tasks await you?

• You are practicaly your own boss in your departement and can continue exciting projects or initiate new ones. Current projects are: the Campus Garden, the Fairtrade University, the Mensa, the Sustainability Days, the Day of Stud. Initiatives, the Consultation for Initiatives and the Initiatives Weekend.
• You have a team of about 10 project managers, who take care of the different topics
• You regularly talk to the rector, the management of the Studierendenwerk and the sustainability staff of the university.

What experience should you have?

• Motivation to make a difference
• First experiences in project management or leading groups desirable
• A lot of the communication will be in German, you shoud be fluent in German
• At least 30 hours of time per week (leave of absence possible)

What do we offer?

• A commited AStA team consisting of seven department leaders and a total of up to 100 project managers
• Experience in project management and leading a team
• A BAföG maximum rate as an expense allowance for your voluntary work
