The International Office of RWTH Aachen University welcomes the new international students for the winter semester 2024-25 during the Welcome Week from September 23 to September 27, 2024. The specially designed orientation and support program starts with the official opening ceremony on September 23 at the Audimax, including a greeting by the RWTH Rectorate and with the awarding of the DAAD Prize 2024.
The program offers important information about studying and living in Aachen, including campus and library tours, intercultural trainings, fairs with central institutions, faculties and student associations of the RWTH, and leisure events. The Welcome Week events as well as a good transition into the Ersti-Woche (First Year Orientation Week) promote the academic and social integration of the internationals, which is crucial for the start and success of their studies.
Recordings and tutorials are available on the Fit for RWTH website providing all first-year students, including latecomers, with important information about their first steps in Aachen.
We would like to thank the Welcome Week partners and the RWTH community and the volunteers, without whose participation the Welcome Week would not be possible. RWTH students who volunteer during the Welcome Week may have their work recognized as part of the Certificate International program.
In addition, the International Student Center of the International Office provides a Survival Guide and has regular office hours to offer new students a point of contact at all times. An overview of information, support and advisory services for international students is available on the Internationals website.
