With its many initiatives for sustainability, the city not only offers a multitude of facets that are illuminated, but also a large exchange platform that extends from the city of Aachen itself to the university landscape here at the RWTH. Since mid-2019, the research project “We@Aachen I gemeinsam nachhaltig” (We@Aachen I Sustainable Together) has been investigating what moves the committed citizens*, what goals and visions they pursue, what obstacles stand in their way and where there is potential to foster cooperation between the initiatives. The nearly 100 different initiatives were questioned in extensive interviews.

In the meantime, the research results of the interviews are available and will now be presented and discussed at the upcoming sustainability conference on October 9 and 10. The event will take place as a hybrid event: on 09.10. the research results will be discussed online in the time from 17:30 to 21:00, on the following day the roll-up exhibition of the results from 14:00 to 18:00 in the Aachener Welthaus (An der Schanz 1) will again offer the opportunity to discuss the most important findings and to get into conversation with individual actors* and to network. In addition, the city of Aachen offers a World Café on the topic of “Sustainable City Administration”, and an art project on the topic of “What unites us” will take place in the garden of the house.

You can register for the online event at mg@1wf.de, the link will be sent by e-mail.
The presence event can be attended without registration, here you have to wear a face mask in the Welthaus.
