To ensure that students with a disability and/or chronic illness are not disadvantaged in their studies, but are supported according to their potential, they have the right to apply for compensation for disadvantages in their studies. Examples of this are extended processing times for exams, term papers or theses and many other individual adjustments.

In order to apply for compensation for a disadvantage, you must submit a medical certificate and a written, informal application to the respective examination board. Compensations for disadvantages are valid for 2 semesters, after which they must be applied for again.

There you can find more information about the disadvantage compensation under “Downloads” and a template that you can present to your doctors as an orientation.
