On this day exactly five years ago,

on November 4 2016, the Paris Agreement came into effect. Back in 2015, 55 countries responsible for at least 55 percent of greenhouse gases had agreed on the treaty at the UN Climate Change Conference. In the Paris Agreement are, among other things, the climate target of 1.5 degrees Celsius, as well as adaptation to climate change and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Up to 2018, 180 countries have already ratified the treaty, including the EU and Germany.
