Role Description:
This is a part-time hybrid position (12-20 hours/week) for a 3D Software Engineer (m/f/d) based in Düsseldorf or Aachen, with flexible working hours and the option to work from home. The 3D Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining state-of-the-art algorithms for 3D data processing. Join our innovative team to research state-of-the-art reconstruction techniques for point clouds, CAD data, and 2D images while pursuing your engineering or science degree.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and optimize algorithms to process 3D data from various input sources such as point clouds, CAD data or 2D images
- Research and analysis of SOTA algorithms for 3D data reconstruction
- Point cloud processing, computer vision and volumetric modeling through innovative artificial intelligence approaches
Qualifications:
- Expertise in Python
- Fundamental understanding of mathematical principals in linear algebra, geometry and numerical optimization
- Teamwork: You enjoy working in a young, motivated team and are interested in making an active contribution
- Curiosity about new topics and tools and a willingness to learn more about them
- Fluent in English
- Enrolled in a technical or scientific study program
Non-Plus-Ultra:
- Coding experience on 3D data
- Previous experience in collaborative software development
- Coding skills in other languages such as C++ or Rust
