Chor-Konzert „A tribute to Zelenka“

It is with pleasure that we invite you to join us for the summer concerts of the Collegium Musicum Choir, taking place on the 15th and 16th of July 2022. In this year’s ‘A Tribute to Zelenka’ we pay homage to some of the greatest composers of the baroque era, most notably J.S Bach’s Czech counterpart Jan Dismas Zelenka, yet also Biagio Marini and Antonio Caldara as influential figures of Italian baroque. A performance of Ola Gjeilo’s ‘Ave Generosa’ to a text written by Hildegard von Bingen shall complete a diverse programme consisting of both a cappella works and those with chamber orchestra accompaniment. The hallowed acoustics of the Krönungssaal in Aachen’s Rathaus will allow us to embark on a journey through rich polyphonic textures in a magical atmosphere – we look forward to seeing you there!
