Mini-job/midi-job:
The mini-job limit has been raised from €556 to €603.
BAföG recipients are also allowed to earn the higher amount without their payments being reduced.
However, if you earn more than this, you are in the ‘Übergangsbereich’, in which you are allowed to earn between €603,01 and €2,000. In this case, you would be subject to social security contributions.

Tax allowance:
The annual tax allowance has been increased by €252 and amounts to €12,348 for a single person this year.

Health insurance:
Depending on the provider, the contribution for student health insurance now ranges from approximately €125 to €150, including ‘Pflegeversicherung’. After the age of 30, you will no longer be eligible for student health insurance and will have to take out voluntary health insurance. Tax return:
It can also be worthwhile for students to file a tax return. Students can deduct their semester fees, work materials (laptop, books, other materials, etc.), travel expenses and claim back the income tax they have paid. To do this, a tax return can be submitted digitally via ‘Elster’. If you still need help and have questions, you are welcome to contact the tax office during office hours for advice.
