The election announcement for the upcoming student body elections is being released today. Due to the Corona pandemic, the election will be held for the first time as a mail-only election. In order to allow all students to participate in the election without risk in the current situation, the student parliament has agreed to dispense with face-to-face elections. The election will take place from 28.06. – 12.07.2021.

Why should I vote? Once a year you have the chance to participate with minimal effort and to help decide what should be on the university’s agenda for the coming year through your cross on the election letter! By the way: Anyone who is interested can get involved in various parts of the university at any time!

Who can vote? Anyone can vote who is a student on the 63rd day (April 26th, 2021) before the first election day, according to the basic rules of RWTH Aachen University. Students who have not yet re-registered by this deadline are not considered as members of the university in terms of the election regulations.

Who should I elect? Who you want! From now on, there will be more information about the lists and the candidates available in the coming weeks until the election. One thing is certain: a large number of motivated students will be candidating for this year too! The student parliament, the foreigners’ representation and various student representatives are going to be elected.

How can I vote? You can vote as soon as you have received the voting documents by post. It is important that the voting documents are submitted by July 12th so your vote counts!

More information about the election will be given in the upcoming election newspaper. In addition, there will be an election tutorial explaining how to vote to avoid mistakes!
